Okay, we’ve done Halloween, it’s now time to start talking about Christmas. Loving the jolly colourful nature of these Pantone Christmas baubles, created by Selab Studios for Italian design house Seletti. It would make a far more sophisticated and stylish Christmas tree as opposed to mine, which is usually full of a mish mash of non-matching decorations collected over the past 10 years. Found via Fubiz.

The Vitra shop is just up the road from our Clerkenwell office, and I’ve walked past and always wondered what they did with those mini versions of their chairs. And it turns out, Barbie’s having a party with them! We loved their novel way of showing off the Vitra furniture on their blog, thanks to Viv for finding this one.

Thanks to Holly for finding this one: “Brilliant execution and a really engaging film from Dior which has been spread like wildfire amongst my female friends this week. In a similar vein to recent Chanel communications using ‘girls of the moment’ to make the brand more approachable and appealing to a younger generation, Dior is showing a more playful side to premium branding that fits perfectly with a more democratised form of luxury that seems to be popping up across the globe. And the audience’s appreciation of this approach is neatly summed up in a viewer’s comment on YouTube: ‘I’ve never tried out Dior’s makeup but this video makes me want to test some out more than any photoshopped magazine ad ever has!'”

I love these photographs by Frank Kunert, which at first glance look like images of slightly eerie real-life places, until you notice something not quite right about each one. They are in fact small models that are then photographed. More about his work on his website, but here are a few examples below.  Found in few places but mostly Fubiz and Today and  Tomorrow.

Calligraphy and Typography lovers will be all excited about these stunning long exposure light photographs by French calligrapher Kaalam, aka Julien Breton. Inspired. Thanks to Steve for finding this one, via Whudat.de.

Nice to see our very own Mat Brown’s entry on the Red Bull Canimation gallery. Check out Red Bull Rockets below
