Stemming from a single conversation to see if they could incorporate an everyday office object into a piece of furniture, Boex designed this quirky bench. It ended up causing quite a stir across the design world, scooping two awards for Boex and being featured in a number of national design journals. The seat is made up of 1,600 pencils which are individually sprung. Each pencil can be removed and used. Thanks to Marguerite for finding this one!

Ray Villafane’s pumpkin sculptures always pops up on various blogs around this time of the year, but I couldn’t resist sharing these ones, found by Dan via Flavorwire. I love the way the expressions range from disgruntled to downright angry. Here are a couple of examples but you can find more here. More pumpkin carving inspiration can be found here too.

Vivian Chiu’s Inception Chair is a wonderful concept that creates a hall of mirrors type design, by fitting a number of chair frames one inside another to form the final seat. Found by Chris via Design Boom.
