This week’s top picks from the world of art, design, branding and anything that we think is just a brilliant idea. Here are our Favourites found this week:
We were quite enamoured by the site Doggleganger, where you can upload your photo, or take one from your webcam, and it analyses your features to match you with your perfect dog. It’s all part of a Pedigree Petfoods campaign to for New Zealand to drive adoption of rescue dogs. Chris was matched with a Beagle mixed breed, and I ended up being matched with a Greyhound Mastiff mix. I don’t quite know what that says about us, but it’s a great tool and if I were based in NZ I’d be sorely tempted to go and pick up Trevor. Here are some stills but click here to go to the site. Thanks to Chris’ brother James for sending us this!
What a magical thing – the Balloon Bench created by h220430 in Japan, which was inspired by the 1953 French film ‘La Ballon Rouge’. I wonder what it’s like to sit on, and what the weight allowance is? Or even better, could you float away on it? Found via The Awesomer.
In awe of the combination of colours textures, accessories and ideas in these fabulous scans from a 1970 Good Decorating and Home Improvement book. Colour blocking in decor was obviously so hot back in the 1970s. Thanks to James for this one (a different James. We don’t only accept Favourites from people called James by the way).
Can I live in the one below please?
